Light Therapy at Medifine, Leeds is now available. BIOPTRON light therapy is clinically proven & certified for the medical treatment of dermatological disorders and skin problems in adults and children. In particular, the light therapy penetrates deep into the skin with equal doses of blue and red light, targeting and destroying bacteria that cause acne flare-ups. BIOPTRON has been reported to be beneficial in the improvement of residual scarring remaining as a result of various skin conditions, (e.g. extensive acne vulgaris).
When the BIOPTRON medical device is held over the skin surface, energy from the emitted light penetrates the skin and underlying tissues. This produces a biological response, called photo-biostimulation, causing various beneficial reactions which can be used to help treat:

  • Acne
  • Acne Rosacea
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Atopic Dermatitis
  • Herpes Skin Infections
The leading medical light therapy device can also treat skin infections caused by viruses or bacteria and conditions affecting the mouth such as:

  • Ulcers
  • Gum disease
  • Inflammation of the lining of the mouth
  • Inflammations of the lips
  • Cold sores (herpes simplex)

The procedure will be carried out by one of our fully trained and accredited team members on the Bioptron light (Training obtained from the company at their head office in London).
For best results, we clean and cleanse the skin prior to treatment. A single treatment which consists of 15 minutes is priced at £15. The price can vary depending on the length of treatment and this will be determined upon consultations. Course prices are available on request.
