We are delighted to introduce CryoPen cryotherapy to our range of clinic services, offering patients a modern, precise and convenient option for the treatment of a variety of benign skin lesions. The service will be provided by Dr Geoff Hall with over 40 years GP experience at Moorcroft Surgery, bringing his clinical experience to this specialist treatment.
What is CryoPen?
CryoPen is an advanced cryosurgery device designed to treat benign skin lesions using precisely controlled freezing. Unlike traditional liquid nitrogen cryotherapy, the CryoPen delivers a highly targeted treatment, allowing the practitioner to focus on the lesion while minimising treatment to the surrounding skin.
Cryotherapy is an established treatment approach for a range of superficial skin lesions. Depending on individual assessment, CryoPen may be suitable for conditions including
- skin tags
- warts
- verrucas
- Cherry angiomas (small red birthmarks)
- Milia (tiny white hard cysts)
- age spots and sun spots
- pigmentation spots

Every patient will receive an individual assessment before treatment.
Where CryoPen treatment is considered appropriate, Dr Geoff Hall will carefully target the lesion using the CryoPen device. Treatment is generally quick, and patients may experience some temporary stinging, redness, swelling or blistering as the skin responds to the freezing treatment. Healing times vary according to the lesion and treatment site, and some lesions may require more than one treatment.

How long does a treatment take?
How long will the lesion take to heal?
Occasionally, a blister might form and persist for op to 5 days. After the lesion scabs over, healing depends on how deep the wound is. Typically, healing takes between 2 – 6 weeks, depending on the length of freeze and location.
