HOW DOES PROFHILO WORK?
Profhilo is an injectable treatment made of hyaluronic acid which improves skin quality and skin laxity. Profhilo is produced in a special way which means not only does it hydrate and act like scaffolding within the skin, it also triggers a response in the tissue known as ‘bioremodeling’ which smooths, tightens and gives your skin an inner glow, promoting radiance and bounce.
Profhilo uses an incredibly pure form of synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) which is injected strategically into the upper-layers of the skin with a very small needle. It is not a dermal filler its purpose is for the high concentration of hylauronic acid to be able to spread into the skin and begin its bioremodelling process.
HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME?
There is minimal downtime; immediately after the procedure, you can see small bumps, much like an insect bite or bee sting, at the site of the injection. These are very easy to cover usually and can take up to 24 hours to settle. After any injection it is possible to have bruising, slight swelling yet infection is rare.
DOES IT HURT?
It is a relatively painless treatment; you may experience slight stinging in the skin during the injections which settles very quickly.
IS THE TREATMENT SAFE?
Profhilo is biocompatible due to its pure grade hyaluronic acid which is free of additives, therefore reducing side effects and offering greater safety. To date, over a million Profhilo treatments have been administered all over the world and nobody has had a serious reaction to the treatment.
Despite the incredibly high HA content is has a low inflammatory profile, pro-healing properties and is backed by clinical studies.
HOW LONG WILL THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
Relatively quick procedure approximately 30 minutes
WILL I SEE RESULTS QUICKLY?
Results are not immediate for most people a course of two treatment sessions is recommended with an interval of one month between sessions. Depending on the degree of skin ageing and laxity three treatments may be necessary. Maximum results are seen approximately 4 weeks after finishing the course.
WHO CAN HAVE THE TREATMENT?
Anyone over the age of 18 years and there is no medical contraindications yet this treatment comes into force after the age of 30 years when we start to notice the effects of loosing collagen and elastin. Exclusions: women who are pregnant or breast feeding.
HOW LONG WILL RESULTS LAST?
You should notice the results of the treatment-increased firmness, elasticity and overall improved quality of your skin lasting around six months.
However, other factors can affect the results, including the degree of correction needed, your age and lifestyle and your skin’s natural ageing process.
